Hey lovelies! Today I am going to do a wee review on MAC's project with Rihanna - the RiRi Woo lipstick!
LOOK at the cute signature in the lipstick! Love it!
Ok, just a little foreword to say that I am far from Rihanna's biggest fan - in fact I find her a bit of a pain in the butt at times BUT when I heard about this collaboration I just knew it was going to be something big! So as soon as I got word that RiRi Woo had gone live over on the MAC website I hop-skipped on over to get me one of these beauties that were described as "retro matte" - and anyone who knows me & my love for anything vintage or retro knew if would be love at first swatch - it is a gorgeous vintage blue-toned red! (yay for making whiter teeth!!) Any gal who applies this baby cannot help but feel ultra glam al la Monroe style & I love that instant slick of glamour a lippie can give!
so...the negative about this lippie? As this is a matte (and true matte this is!) it will cling to dry patches unless your lips has really had a good prep but with any red I would recommend a lip scrub & moisturizing balm before! But that's not too much of a biggie!
Now, don't be fooled into thinking there is much of a difference between RiRi Woo and the lipstick it is based on - Ruby Woo. They are crazy similar however we where never lead into thinking any different so I didn't mind, Rihanna has said herself that she adores Ruby Woo.
Just to give ye a wee comparison of Ruby Woo & RiRi Woo I have the two swatched beside each other here...
As you can see, RiRi Woo is a bluer toned & slightly darker.
So this lippie may be sold out online (it was snapped up in minutes!) but don't fear! It will be back in June with the next installment of the Rihanna & MAC lovefest along with some other GORGEOUS pieces that I really want to get my mitts on!
