Imagine, Day 9 already! Time flies when you are getting stuck into something!
Today's post is about how I would recommend working colour into your daily makeup.
For me the Golden Rule is - go for eyes or lips but never both if you are working with bold vibrant colours, if you go for both you more than likely will clash!
So..
Firstly, how to incorporate colour into your eye makeup? Well, besides going for the usual bright shadows I would suggest going for coloured mascara for a funky take on colour. I recently purchased these mascaras - Bourjois are brilliant for their quality products and these do not disappoint! I think these would bring a pop of colour to a natural eyeshadow!
Here is a swatch of the colour!
However if you want something a little more striking than a slight hint of colour on the lashes I think the best way if introducing colour is a colourful eyeliner! My favourite liner has to be Urban Decay's 24 7 Glide On liners - they are so creamy smooth & the range of colours is just amazing!
If you applied a little natural nude shadow on then used one of these funky colours this would look brilliant!
So that's the eyes!
If you wanted to keep the eye makeup to a minimum you could incorporate colour into your face of the day by using a BOLD lip, and it doesn't even have to be red!
Trying a berry pink (like Heaux from the RiRi loves MAC collection) would be great for Autumn
Or if pink is more your thing you could always rock a bring lip using Rimmel Apocolips in Stellar (this has a slight coral colour to it)
Or, go crazy & use something like MAC's Violetta - a purple magenta!
So, that's how I work colour into my makeup looks- how to you incorporate colour?
Thank you for reading, until tomorrow lovelies!
Sarah xx
Ooh, Violetta is gorgeous on you, I wish I could carry that off! Great post, bright eyeliner is definitely one of my favourite ways to use colour in makeup xx
ReplyDeleteLove those lippies on you, stunning colours! And my god, can't believe I still don't have any of the UD liners! That blue! Wow!!
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing! I would recommend a set of liners though, works out cheaper!xx
DeleteGod hadn't thought of eyeliner I love the UD ones!
ReplyDeleteI am terrible at incorporating colour into my makeup. I love the lipsticks as I think they would be easier to work in. Great post xx
ReplyDeleteHeroine in Heels
Thanks for reading :) yes, the lippie or the liner is prob easiest to work with! Xx
DeleteI love the Mac lipstick! I love purple lipsticks so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy pigmented too!! It was a spur of the moment buy but def a good one!xx
DeleteGreat selection of coloured make up. I am so boring, black mascara, black eyeliner. I should definitely try some new stuff!
ReplyDeleteColoured eye liner is probably the least scariest to start with, and then work your way towards a bold lip!
